Job Description:

GPS Manufacturer/Distributor

We’re looking for Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Designers. In this role, you will be responsible for working closely with Product Design and Mechanical Engineers to produce complex PCB Designs, as well as setting up data for complex high speed designs. 



Other essential functions include: 


  • Demonstrate expert knowledge in PCB Design and Engineering processes

  • Contribute to PCB Design process improvement projects

  • Provide feedback to Design Engineers as needed to ensure manufacturability is maintained in each design


  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency, commitment, and focus on the right priorities in each PCB Design




  • Independently determine general approach and provides reliable solutions to technical problems including work through complex issues as they appear in layouts




  • Collaborate and add value to engineering design reviews including collaborating with engineers on final designs




  • Contribute to determining feasibility of project goals/objectives




  • Test out tools introduced to the team




  • May mentor one or more PCB Designers



Qualified candidates possess an Associate’s Degree in Electronics Technology or related field AND 5+ years relevant experience performing similar consumer electronics industry duties OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Other requirements include: 



  • High Speed (DDR 2,3,4) Board Design experience




  • ELIC (Every Layer Interconnect) multilayer board design experience




  • Microvia Capabilities for PCB (1-N-1 / 2-N-2)  




  • Proficient use and thorough knowledge of PCB design “best practices” and design standards for surface mount and through hole designs




  • Demonstrate expert proficiency using eCAD tools




  • Ability to interpret basic design intent from schematics




  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes
