Job Purpose

The Dispatch Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily dispatching operations NMC's Transport Division. You'll manage a team of 3 dispatchers and 18 truck drivers and work with coordinators, sales reps, customers, and shops to orchestrate an efficient and uninterrupted transport service of all types of construction and material handling equipment throughout Nebraska and some surrounding locations.

The Dispatch Manager's success is measured through various metrics such as P&L and a Transport Scorecard. You'll coordinate the service and maintenance of the truck fleet and work with leasing companies and manufacturers to replace outdated equipment. The Dispatch Manager sends invoices for our transport services to both internal & external customers and also pays invoices received for outsourced transport & maintenance services. This position will also be responsible for handling complaints and developing action plans to improve operations. We're looking for someone who sees the big picture and enjoys planning and executing logistics operations to satisfy the customer. At times, you will jump in and assist with dispatching duties. The position is located at our west Omaha office and primarily works Monday through Friday during daytime hours.

Essential & Primary Job Duties

• Responsible for the overall productivity, efficiency, and management of the transport division.
• Reporting of various metrics such as: load count, special projects count, and drivers being dispatched.
• Handle all escalations of issues from internal and external customers.
• Work closely with shops to ensure resource efficiency of truck fleet.
• Monitor and control the availability of offered services.
• Ensure accurate documentation of all drop offs or pick-ups.
• Processing of invoices
