The Closing Manager is responsible for both the department's workflow and function as well as the day-to-day supervision of the closing team. As an industry leader in customer service and quality, the Closing Manager is expected to uphold an honorable reputation of the Mortgage Company and its affiliates, while empowering employees to continually excel in quality loan closings and teamwork.

This position is Exempt and will report directly to the VP of Closing.

As the Closing Manager, primary responsibilities include:


  • Manage team of approximately 10 closers
  • Accomplishing human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Meeting mortgage loan operational standards by contributing mortgage loan information to strategic plans and reviews; monitoring production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying mortgage loan system improvements.
  • Mitigating exposure risk by ensuring all employees comply with the Privacy Act/Clean Desk Policy to keep loan information confidential.
  • Measure Closer performance by providing consistent feedback via scorecards and performance reviews to the staff and to management.
  • Create a team environment where Sales and Operations work together.
  • Set the tone in the office that fosters positive attitudes and professionalism.
  • Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Support Closers by load-balancing pipelines.
  • Ensuring that his/her staff has complete knowledge.
  • Complete daily and monthly responses to quality control, compliance and regulatory audits
  • Being capable of integrating all regulatory requirements into day to day work functions.
  • Accomplishing the company mission by completing related results as needed.

Job Requirements:


  • 8 years of Mortgage lending experience as well as experience with Financial Software, Customer Service, decision making, analyzing information and confidentiality.
  • 5-7 years of experience in managing people
  • Experience with customer service, decision making, and analyzing information.
  • Strong organizational, written and telephone communication skills.
  • Preferred knowledge of handling loans for multiple products including Jumbo, FHA and VA
  • Encompass experience preferred.
