It serves all segments of the industry from commercial jetliners, business aircraft and helicopters to military aircraft, ground vehicles, space craft and rockets.

AMETEK Hughes-Treitler (HT) is the industry leader in high-performance, plate-fin, Aluminum/Inconel heat exchangers for Military and Commercial Engine, Rotary, Airframe, and similar applications. HT specializes in custom build-to-specification applications where thermal performance, weight, structural and reliability are key considerations. HT provides Engine Surface Coolers, Fuel-Cooled Oil Coolers, Air-Cooled Oil Coolers, high temperature Buffer/Pre-Coolers, and bundled Heat Exchanger/Fan/Blower/Duct systems for the most challenging applications/requirements.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are currently seeking an Analytical Engineer for the Hughes-Treitler Business Unit responsible for the analysis, design, and development of heat transfer components.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Evaluate customer requirements, and generate specification compliance matrices.
• Determine the heat exchanger parameters required (utilizing the HEATX computer program).
• Provide heat exchanger core details to the design group.
• Provide price sheets to the estimating department.
• Provide stress group with the relevant operating information and core details.
• Approve test and qualification procedures.
• Approve final design and engineering design changes.
• Liaison with customer for detailed product definition and functionality.
• Participate in design review meetings as design progresses.
• Interface with vendors and HT shop personnel to ensure manufactureability.
• Investigate and troubleshoot problems arising during manufacture of product.
• Critically evaluate thermal and structural analysis.
• Present results (computer sheets, graphs tables, contour plots, and reports).
• Perform and critically evaluate CFD analysis utilizing commercial software.

Position Requirements:
Education and/or Experience:
• Requires a BS/MS degree (MS preferred) in Mechanical Engineering, with knowledge of Heat Transfer and Fluid dynamics fundamentals
• 3-5 years experience in engineering/manufacturing positions
• Aerospace experience a plus
• Due to ITAR regulations, an export license may be required.

• Computer literacy
• Communication skills: written, verbal and presentation
• Knowledge of design principles, manufacturing processes and assembly techniques
• Use of computer 3D solid modeling system
• Ability to communicate subject matter in the mechanical engineering environment with customers, vendors and internal personnel
• Computer literacy: Word, WordPerfect, Excel, Databases, Fortran, DOS based programs
• Ability to lead small interdepartmental groups toward common goals
• Ability to perform multiple functions/projects simultaneously
