Job Description:

Purpose: The Sales Support Specialist’s mission is to assist the outside sales team in providing customers and prospects with world class technical and administrative support in terms of ordering product from J.A. King.  This is an inside sales position that will be responsible for fielding incoming calls and leads as part of a team and also supporting members of the outside sales team by generating quotes, tracking down pricing and lead times, following up on open orders and quotes, as well as processing orders by cutting PO’s to the manufacturers and having product shipped to the customer.

Essential Functions


  • Respond directly to customer’s requests for quotes or information for distributed product and determine when to involve the appropriate Application Specialist or Product Manager to work on the solution with the customer

  • Customer requests will come in via phone, email, website, and through the sales team

  • Provide outside sales team members with pricing, information, lead times, etc on distributed product as requested

  • Reporting and data entry in Netsuite and on Vendor Portals

  • Order product from Manufacturers, managing the delivery and invoicing of the product when it reaches the customer 

  • Other duties as assigned

Measurables:


  • Monthly quote volume growth

  • Product orders placed

  • Quote volume and percentage of quotes closed

  • The creation of leads and the development of transitioning a lead to a customer

  • Annual performance reviews, feedback from customers, prospects, and peers.

 Required Education & Experience


  • High school Diploma or GED required, Associates or Bachelors degree preferred

  • 3-5 years of experience in Sales Administration/Support or experience in a related technical field

  • Presentation, written and personal communication skills

  • Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills and PC proficiency

  • The ability to think creatively, take initiative, multitask and manage projects under pressure
