Job Description:

GDIT is is currently seeking a .NET Developer with a solid understanding of ASP.NET MVC, a strong background with Visual FoxPro and an intellectual curiosity to master the framework to support its Administrative Systems Office (ASO) Administrative Office (AO) US Courts contract.

The project involves the modernization of a web-based Visual FoxPro (using FoxWeb) system into ASP.NET MVC 5. The legacy application is composed of scores of individual applications and tasks that support a variety of administrative and operational functions.  Applications and tasks are discretely migrated and run in parallel with the remaining legacy modules.  Developers looking for continually evolving challenges and a desire to regularly solve new problems will excel in this role. We need someone that has experience with custom software development in large organizations.

Required Skills and Experience: 


  • Master’s Degree and 8+ years of IT experience or Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of IT experience

  • 5+ years of experience with FoxPro

  • 2+ years of ASP.NET MVC Experience

  • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft development technologies

  • 2+ years of experience with web-based system development

  • 5+ years of Linq experience

  • Must have relevant hands-on experience with JavaScript/jQuery

  • Basic experience with SQL (language) and SQL Server

  • Experience working with large data sets

  • Ability to work independently and reverse engineer without adequate guidance

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Ability to analyze complex data and present findings in a clear and easily understood manner

  • Review code from other developers and provide guidance

  • Lead team demo sessions with the Federal client

  • Work with the Federal Client to understand their technical strategy, translate the strategy into requirements and assist in the execution of that strategy

  • Ability to present recommendations for consideration and influence as needed

  • U.S. Citizen or Green Card

Desired Skills: 


  • Web Development (UI/Presentation)

  • Legacy application modernization/migration experience

  • FoxWeb and/or IIS

  • Experience with administrative systems for Budget, Accounting, or Human Resources
