Physicians Choice Private Duty is on the quest for experienced CNAs to join our team. The Home Health Aide will provide personal care and incidental/instrumental activities of daily living as assigned to patients/clients in the home setting as permitted by the policies and procedures set forth by Physicians Choice Private Duty and any other federal, state and local law and/or regulation.
The candidate must be able to assist, perform and train patient/client and family in activities of daily living such as, but not limited to, bathing, grooming, toileting and elimination and adequate nutritional intake.
Responsibilities and Duties
The candidate must be able and willing to complete the following tasks:
Promote a safe environment and maintain unobstructed pathways while performing duties and providing care
Assist safely with ambulation, transfers and/or range of motion exercises
Assist with incidental/instrumental activities of daily living - including shopping, meal preparation, socialization activities, homemaking and maintaining a clean and safe physical environment and medication reminding.
Must be capable of recognizing, documenting and reporting changes in the patient/client's condition and safety to the supervisor. Must utilize infection control measures at all times. The candidate must attend all mandatory agency in-services and provide requested documents to keep the employee file current and in compliance.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum Requirements:
Eighteen (18) years of age or older
A graduate of a training and competency program as required by the State and Federal Regulations
At least Six months (6) months of work experience
Meets all applicable health requirements to provide patient/client care
Meets the requirements of federal and/or state criminal and abuse background checks
Provide proof of valid driver's license and auto liability insurance where required by State regulations if assignment(s) include driving a vehicle.
Working Condition & Physical Effort:
Ability travel as needed
Work is normally performed in patient homes and may involve occasional exposure to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens and/or potentially infectious or hazardous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment (e.g. face masks, goggles, latex and or non-latex gloves)
Requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs.
Ability to carry bundles such as groceries and laundry up or down stairs and lift with or without assistance
Ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat, kneel and reach freely and assist clients with standing and walking
Ability to hear, speak and write in a manner understood by most people
