Position Summary

As a vital member of Operations Services, the Innovation Analyst will be responsible for data reporting and analytics of key beer division innovation project inputs, driving cross-functional alignment with commercial teams (field sales, Total Beverage Alcohol, marketing, growth/innovation teams), internal operations teams (including but not limited to Procurement, Supply Planning, Inventory Planning, Demand Planning, and Customer Management), and external third-party contract brewers and co-packers on innovation initiatives. The Innovation Analyst will also lead results and reporting tracking that will be utilized and presented across the business through both the S&OP process and the Stage Gate process as well as the information being a key input into continuous improvement efforts for future innovation launches. 

Responsibilities


  • Ensures innovation reporting includes all assumptions, highlights areas of over and/or underperformance with accompanying risks and opportunities in a presentable format to multiple layers of the business.


  • Able to navigate uncertainty of new to world innovation and gain cross-functional alignment on the demand side as individual would need to be able to develop rapidly changing and dynamic demand scenarios incorporating assumptions and intel from across the organization including but not limited to field sales (Import Beer, Specialty/Craft, Wine & Spirits), marketing (Import Beer, Specialty/Craft, Wine & Spirits), growth organization, and insights & analytics (Import Beer, Specialty/Craft, Wine & Spirits)


  • Able to use the understanding of the potential demand scenarios to support the determination of the most cost effective route to market on the supply side potentially working with departments including but not limited to operations (Import Beer, Specialty/Craft, Wine & Spirits, 3rd party contract brewers & co-packers), logistics & transportation (Import Beer, Specialty/Craft, Wine & Spirits, 3rd party contract brewers & co-packers), supply planning (Import Beer, Specialty/Craft, Wine & Spirits,3rd party contract brewers & co-packers) and inventory planning (Import Beer, Wine & Spirits) while helping to determine any gaps or misalignments in supply & demand and working with all of the cross-functional teams listed previously to close those gaps and mitigate any risk to servicing consumer demand


  • Develop monthly demand forecast for key beer innovation items in conjunction with the directors and managers of commercial teams (sales, marketing, etc.) Monitoring and reporting on related Key Performance Indicators (Forecast Accuracy, Bias, etc.) to the Beer Division via S&OP Demand Review.


  • Utilizes IQ and other reporting to manage weekly and monthly innovation reporting with the purpose of assisting managers and directors of Operation Services team and operations planning partners in other divisions (Import Beer, Specialty/Craft, Wine & Spirits) in managing Constellation Beer Division new products.


  • Tracks performance metrics and analysis to identify both opportunities and risks within Operation Services processes within the Beer Division including links to other divisions, reporting and financials as it pertains to innovation.  Troubleshoots underperforming metrics and develops a plan to increase compliance levels in conjunction with Manager, Innovation Planning, managers within Operation Services and managers on core innovation team.


  • Responsible for documenting assumptions as projects progress through Stage Gate process, gate to gate comparisons and source of volumes and assumptions into Stage Gate.


  • Shares qualitative data with Manager, Innovation Planning that is not captured within internal systems that should be considered when reviewing reporting.


  • Provides accurate updates to Manager, Innovation Planning in a timely fashion.


  • Supports S&OP process by providing special reporting as it relates to innovation.


  • Completes additional assignments as required by Manager, Innovation Planning.


Minimum Qualifications


  • B.A./B.S. in Business, Operations (or equivalent)


  • At least 3 years in operations, supply chain, or finance experience.


  • Needs to be at least 21 years of age.


  • Strong forecasting ability with experience in predictive modeling.


  • Results driven; detail oriented with strong analytical capabilities.


  • Self-motivated – able to set priorities and implement decisions to meet deadlines.


  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills to work and communicate effectively cross-functionally to obtain consensus amongst teams as well as leadership.


  • Demonstrated ability to influence others, build business partners, to reduce risk by managing exceptions, accelerating results, and generating value.


  • Superior communication skills to foster communication/collaboration amongst department.


  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently with shifting priorities.


  • Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment.


  • High energy level and strong work ethic.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Knowledge of beverage alcohol industry preferred.


  • Must be willing and able to travel as needed.
