We are seeking an inspired, motivated and collaborative leader to join our Acelero team as a Leave of Absence Coordinator.

The Leave of Absence Coordinator is responsible for driving and optimizing the leaves function. This includes the day-to-day administration of all leave programs such as FMLA, ADA, various state-mandated laws, and specific company leave policies. This role will partner closely with our legal team and directly support our HR team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Leave Administration


  • Coordinates the processing of employee leave of absence cases, which includes administering FMLA, ADA, disability, paid sick leave, and worker's compensation claims, for the Acelero Learning / Shine Early Learning network.
  • Evaluates claims to determine eligibility, which includes following legal and company policy.
  • Communicates notice of employee rights, notice of deadlines and company leave policy guidelines to employees requesting leave.
  • Maintains the request and receipt of medical certifications required during the leave of absence.
  • Maintains and enhances tracking system for all leaves of absence.
  • Provides ongoing case management for all leaves of absence.
  • Maintains and strengthens current leave of absence processes.
  • Provides excellent stakeholder and employee service.
  • Participates in assigned meetings, events and training as required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state leave regulations including FMLA, ADA, STD, WC and HIPAA is required.
  • Knowledge of multiple Human Resources disciplines.
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs (ERISA, COBRA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, Social Security, and DOL requirements).
  • Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations.
  • Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Advanced computer literacy skills, especially in the use of databases, Excel, MS Office applications, Google Docs, and internet navigation.
  • Must be honest, dependable and able to meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Requirements:


  • A high school diploma, GED, or HSED required; Associate degree or higher in Human Resources preferred; SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP and/or CEBS professional designations a plus
  • A minimum of three (3) years of direct Human Resources experience required; preferably supporting a multi-site and multi-state employer. Minimum of one (1) year of experience administering or supporting the employee benefits function required including leaves administration.
  • Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.
  • Travel required locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings and functions.
