The Assistant Store Manager is the right-hand of the Store Manager. You will step in as the Store Manager when the manager is not around. You will help drive results through effective leadership, training, and inventory management. No matter the task, you will need to keep a level head, be able to multitask, and have excellent people skills. People skills are a must in this role. You will interact with customers, employees, vendors, and other members of management on a consistent basis. You should be a good teacher and mentor. Your job is to be attentive to the employees by motivating them to succeed and improve.
What You’ll do as an Assistant Store Manager:
Perform all duties of the Cashier and Lead Cashier
Assist with training and supervision of employees
Provide professional leadership and mentor store employees
Promote excellent service; resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner
Ensure merchandise is available, stocked, priced and all advertising material is displayed correctly
Complete general reporting and bookkeeping responsibilities as required
Support effective store operations, including but not limited to inventory, cash management, bank deposits, staff meetings work schedules, shift checkout procedures and food service quality
Support the Store Manager with the inspection of the facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order, submitting requests for repairs and maintenance when appropriate
Safeguard and account for all money received and disbursed
Support Food Service operations when needed including stocking food display items and maintaining the self-serve offerings (coffee dispensers, fountain machine, and condiment center)
Adhere to all city, county, state, and federal laws affecting store operations including the sale of tobacco and alcohol product
Meet the physical demands of lifting, bending, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items weighing up to 50 lbs.as well as standing for long periods of time

You’ll be a Great Fit if You Have:
A high school diploma/GED preferred
1+ years of supervisory experience, experience in a convenience/retail store environment is a plus
Strong interpersonal skills
Basic problem solving and analytical skills
Proficient with basic computer skills
Proven ability to stay calm and confident under pressure, while delivering extraordinary customer service
A Food Handlers Permit, if required by the store/county
