As a Shift Manager, you will directly supervise all shift operations including leading floor operations and management of production hourly associates to achieve plant goals of safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity.
Working cross functionally with Production Supervisors, Safety, and Quality Assurance, ensure shift operations are run smoothly
Utilize available resources and coordinate efforts of assigned personnel to achieve plant performance goals of safety, quality, efficiency, sanitation, scrap and attendance on a line and shift.
Carry out daily production plans; work with associates to develop recommendations for changes to equipment / manning allowances; monitor quality standards to ensure compliance, complete all production and personnel reports as required.
Communicate, train, and monitor Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards with special emphasis in the areas of safety, food safety, housekeeping and quality.
Ensure that accidents are reported and investigated. Assist safety teams with recommendations for improvement, modifications and corrective action as may be required.
Work with assigned personnel and maintenance facilitators on preventive maintenance programs and emergency work order requests. Record and report data as required.
Process requisitions to order materials and supplies to ensure the efficiency of the operation as needed, within budget guidelines.
Communicate company policies and hold assigned associates responsible for knowing, understanding, and complying with them at all times.
Empower assigned personnel to become self-directing. Develop assigned personnel to make decisions pertaining to their operational areas and bounds.
Serve as a resource and provide leadership and training to assigned personnel. Assess job assignments, methods and priorities with associate input.
Evaluate performance of assigned personnel and recommend salary adjustments, terminations, hires, discipline and other personnel actions to the Plant Director and Human Resource Manager.
Monitor and coordinate efforts in safety, sanitation, special equipment training and other operational duties.
Conduct various communications including work place and task force meetings.
Coordinate staffing needs with temporary services to ensure manufacturing requirements.
Communicate with corporate resources to ensure that plant performance is maintained in the areas of efficiency and product quality.
Perform other duties as directed or as necessity dictates
Five years of supervisory experience in a production or service based environment.
Ability to direct, motivate, train, and coach employees
Strong communication skills
Microsoft Office experience
Ability to work flexible hours as needed
Long term interest in the food industry and production, quality control, or sanitation
