Job Description
Position Summary:
The HR Generalist is responsible for performing HR related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Human Resources Manager of the 110th Street Plant. This position carries out duties in the following areas: employee relationships, onboarding, performance management, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, HR administration, training, employment law compliance, and more.
Ways You Will Make a Difference:
Administers various Human Resource plans and procedures for all plant personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures
Prepares and maintains employee handbook
Develops and maintains records, reports, and logs to conform with EEO regulations
Improves manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems, evaluating and implementing solutions, and counseling managers and employees
Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, including temporary employees
Assist with employee relationships counseling and exit interviews
Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
Assist in coordinating and implementing plant safety activities, company policies, procedures, and practices
Assist with company sponsored events, employee recognition programs, and serve as a champion of Ferrara's company values
Experiences That Will Support Your Success
Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum 3 years of related experience
Manufacturing experience a plus
Experience in the administration of benefits, worker's compensation, and other Human Resources programs
Skills That Will Make You Successful?
General knowledge of employment laws in COBRA, FMLA, DOL, and OSHA
Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Excellent interpersonal and coaching sklls
