Job Description

Position Summary:

The HR Generalist is responsible for performing HR related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Human Resources Manager of the 110th Street Plant. This position carries out duties in the following areas: employee relationships, onboarding, performance management, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, HR administration, training, employment law compliance, and more.

Ways You Will Make a Difference:
  • Administers various Human Resource plans and procedures for all plant personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures
  • Prepares and maintains employee handbook
  • Develops and maintains records, reports, and logs to conform with EEO regulations
  • Improves manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems, evaluating and implementing solutions, and counseling managers and employees
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, including temporary employees
  • Assist with employee relationships counseling and exit interviews
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
  • Assist in coordinating and implementing plant safety activities, company policies, procedures, and practices
  • Assist with company sponsored events, employee recognition programs, and serve as a champion of Ferrara's company values

Experiences That Will Support Your Success
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience
  • Manufacturing experience a plus
  • Experience in the administration of benefits, worker's compensation, and other Human Resources programs

Skills That Will Make You Successful?
  • General knowledge of employment laws in COBRA, FMLA, DOL, and OSHA
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching sklls
