Sr. Manager, Procurement - IndirectPosition Summary

Primary Purpose

The position of Sr. Manager, Procurement is a strategic and highly visible role supporting procurement requirements for senior leadership. The Sr. Manager is a key contributor and will support all category management activities related to Professional Services with a specific emphasis on all sub-categories within Marketing and HR. He or she is responsible for category spend of around $150MM annually. Responsible for all aspects of category procurement including leading and executing competitive events and strategies for the category.

Major Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Conducts the RFI/RFP process from requirements gathering to contracting and savings tracking.
  • Supports professional services categories based on indirect team needs along with other category management activities as needed including PO set up.
  • Leads the process of supply market understanding, supplier search, selection and contract strategy.
  • Develops a deep level of understanding of the global supply base.
  • Develops and leads the strategy and execution to drive cost, innovation, risk management and other value added elements of supplier relationships including holding business reviews for select suppliers. Currently locations in the US and Mexico are in scope.
  • Manages and develops strategic supplier alliances with a select group of suppliers to assure a preferred status in the presentation of new opportunities, while creating an advantaged cost position for Ferrara. Considers supplier diversity in suppler selection efforts.
  • Works in partnership with key stakeholders to ensure their requirements are being met by contracted suppliers, contingency plans exist, and additional sourcing opportunities are presented.
  • Achieves year-over-year benefit targets for the category developed with supervisor. Maintains a high level of professionalism while supporting the organization.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with senior executives and management expectations.
  • Ensures adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Understands and demonstrates the Company's core values.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required; Management, Marketing, Finance, Accounting or related field
  • At least 7 years of experience in procurement of professional services, especially marketing procurement in a large CPG organization with proven track record
  • Ability to interface with multiple levels of an organization internally and externally
  • Ability to support senior executives
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated skills (at global level) including communication, presentation, networking, strategic thinking, leadership, strong influencing skills, negotiations, contracting and problem solving
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment
