What You Will Do: The Surgical Observation unit is a fast paced, acute postoperative / observation area with a focus on patients who have undergone procedures involving GYN/women's health, breast/reconstruction/plastics and issues of the thyroid . PCT's need to have a good understanding of intake/outtake and recognize the signs and symptoms of sepsis/post surgical complications. You will need good time management skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment. As an Associate with Saint Thomas Health Svcs-TN, you will have the opportunity to perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision in assigned area.
Aids with entry and exit, movement and placement of patients.
Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living (ADL's) such as bathing, feeding, grooming, toileting, ambulating.
Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Documents necessary records.
Responsible for keeping patient rooms clean and orderly as well as maintaining medical equipment.
What You Will Need: Licensure / Certification / Registration:
BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. For current incumbents as of 4/30/18, BLS required upon expiration of Heart Saver.
High school diploma or GED required.
