Arconic is currently looking for an Ingot Flow Leader to join our Global Rolled Products unit located in Davenport, IA.

Since it opened in 1948, Arconic Davenport, Iowa aluminum facility has been at the forefront of American manufacturing. Nestled on the banks of the Mississippi River in Iowa, the plant employs 2,200 people and is a focal point of the global aluminum industry, with 25 percent of revenues coming from exports. Through continued modernization, including a $200 million investment over the past decade alone, Davenport has maintained its position as the world's premier aerospace supply plant and is today the hub of Arconic $3 billion aerospace business.

The Ingot Flow Leader will work under the direction of the lead Area Manager and will provide leadership, coaching, and direction for other salaried and hourly employees. Focusing on tactical projects in the areas of safety, productivity, semi-autonomous teaming, recovery improvement and training.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Remove obstacles increasing productivity and solving problems to root cause

  • Supervise Team Coaches within the department; identify training and needs gaps as new hires are on-boarded

  • Actively coach Manufacturing Team Coaches and Lead Operators to improve area and team performance

  • Support the plant in strategic business improvement activities that will focus on improving the Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity with a results-oriented approach

  • Support the design and engineering of equipment, facility, and flow paths to optimize total system productivity

  • Coordinate and implement Lean Manufacturing principles across the department's material flow paths; must gain a complete view and understanding of the area's manufacturing process to be successful

  • Provide project management and single point accountability for the development and implementation of new technologies internally that will provide market advantages to Arconic

  • Provide insight and vision necessary to identify technologies and processes that will mesh with the overall business strategy and provide competitive advantage for the business

  • Direct a variety of activities by internal manufacturing personnel, outside vendors and partners as well as customers to develop value-added technologies for Arconic

  • Coordinate efforts on process improvements, including capital projects, and will support and lead the execution of problem-solving efforts related to process and machine improvements;


Please note: Although the person in this position works primarily daytime shifts M-F, it is expected that they work off-shifts and/or weekends, as needed, to support the functions of this role.

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of 4 years process improvement experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Technical and project management experience;
  • Willingness to work on the shop floor in a team environment;
  • Possess excellent analytical and communication (verbal and written) skills;
  • Strong business, technical, computer, and analytical skills (from educational background and/or manufacturing experience);
  • The ability to engage with employee at all levels of the organization;
  • Experience with the application of lean manufacturing and problem-solving principles in a manufacturing setting;
  • Experience with Aluminum processes and equipment;
  • Experience with aerospace technology, design or manufacturing components.
