GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Vice President of Finance will join Thundermist's dynamic team primarily providing timely financial management and accounting services including, but not limited to, providing analyses and recommendations to the President & CEO and the Board of Directors (via the Finance Committee) to enable them to make organizational decisions related to fiscal management, driving down total cost of care (TCOC), capital structure and financial assets; maintaining the general ledger of the Accountable Entity (AE); preparing the AE's monthly financial statements and annual budgets; managing the AE's accounts payable and accounts receivable; and working with vendor to prepare the AE's federal Form 990 and other required tax filings.

Other duties include driving focused data analytics and comprehensive reviews to impact TCOC opportunities across our AE, reviewing AE's contracts and facilitating their execution, acting as the human resources liaison between Thundermist and the AE, and developing and updating financial policies and procedures for the AE.

REQUIRED QUALIFICAITONS


  • Bachelors degree with 5 plus years of experience in nonprofit accounting.
  • 3 plus years of experience in contract review and negotiation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.
  • Experience using QuickBooks Online preferred but not required.
  • Certified Public Accounting (CPA) certification preferred.
  • 5-7 years in data analytics and reporting

PHYSICAL EFFORT/ENVIRONMENT

  • Manual dexterity needed for keyboard work, writing.
  • Ability to work and travel between multiple, non-traditional settings and/or locations required.
  • Physical mobility and ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time.

  • CONFIDENTIALITY OF INFORMATION

    Knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA and proprietary information is required.

    SIGNIFICANT JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provide timely financial management services for IHP including, but not limited to, managing accounts payable, managing accounts receivables, preparation of monthly financial statements, preparation of annual budgets, and working with vendor to ensure completion and submission of Form 990 and other tax filings;
  • Interface with banking institutions as necessary;
  • Oversee accounting services and transactions performed/processed by other consultants of IHP;
  • Attend and participate in monthly IHP Board and Finance Committee meetings;
  • May prepare other communications with the Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS), third party insurers, IHP participating providers and other stakeholders as needed;
  • Develop and update policies and procedures and processes to improve IHP's internal control structure;
  • Comply with IHP policies and procedures including, but not limited to, confidentiality, conflict of interest and corporate compliance;
  • Facilitate any audits of IHP by independent auditors and/or other third-party stakeholders;
  • Review contracts and provide feedback, and facilitate execution of contracts as needed;
  • Interface with Thundermist personnel to ensure timely and appropriate communication regarding human resources issues.
  • Other accounting/financial/reporting services as requested.
