Tetra Tech invites you to consider a rewarding opportunity within our Salt Lake City office as a/n mid-level Cultural Resource Field Director/Crew Chief to support of our Intermountain Region cultural resource group. The group primarily operates within the states of Utah, Wyoming, Nevada, Idaho, and Colorado. Project work and travel outside that operating region is also a possibility. Field work includes, but is not limited to, pedestrian field survey, construction monitoring, evaluative testing of sites, and site mitigation.

Responsibilities : The candidate is to act as both a supervisor and senior technical archaeologist supporting the office Principal Investigator on a wide array of projects. Field work tasks will range from leading technician crews of one to four people on pedestrian field survey to lone work monitoring in coordination with construction crews. Projects may also require working in close coordination with subcontractors. Office work will include pre-field preparation, technical report writing, sites form production, and similar related tasks for a given undertaking. Frequent coordinating with agency archaeological staff and project stakeholders is also expected for this position. The applicate will be required to do frequent regional travel on eight days in field, six days off work schedule. During field work, company paid hotel is single occupancy and per diem is provided for overnight trips. Between field sessions the candidate will conduct office-based/home-based work assisting in technical reporting.

Qualifications: The candidate must have at least two years of cultural resource management experience in the Great Basin and Intermountain West of the United States. The candidate needs to qualify as a field supervisor within one year of hire on at least one Bureau of Land Management cultural resource permit for the following states: Utah, Wyoming, Nevada, Idaho, and/or Colorado. Holding current MSHA Part 46 certification and GIS skills are a plus. Pay will be dependent on experience.

The candidate should also be able to lift 35 lbs and walk over open terrain for long time periods regardless of weather conditions

Degree Requirements : Minimum education requirement is a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in North American Archaeology. A Master of Arts in Anthropology/Archaeology with a concentration in North American Archaeology is preferred.
