Arcosa Traffic Structures is looking for a Shop Foreman. In this position you will oversee, schedule, and arrange welding and fitting crews work on a daily basis, cooperating with other team members as necessary. This position reports to the Production Manager.
Location: Fort Pierce, FL
What you'll do:
Review all project activities, work equipment, and sites every day to make sure everything is performed to company standards as well as to the latest OSHA regulations and standards
Locate, calculate and designate job site locations as well as equipment and job site structure locations as needed
Work with other necessary personnel and supervisors to ensure all site and crew activities are in sync
Delegate jobs to crew members as determined by their capabilities and the general requirements of specific work projects and site parameters
Meet with other managers/supervisors and necessary personnel as required in order to fully resolve conflicts, complications, and other issues according to company and client standards/requirements
Train new crew members and provide workers with continuing education so that all work meets the most current specifications
Direct layout on complex subassemblies and final products
Check and monitor the fit-up and completion of final welds and/or multi-pass welds
Layout and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies
Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications
Follow all safety rules and practices
Maintain and complete all required records
May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
What you'll need:
5+ years of experience in supervisory/foreman position
Able to give direction and make decisions related to crew members
Able to read blueprints
MIG welding experience
Flux Core experience
Ability to work in high-stress conditions and quickly changing environments
Able to stand and walk for long periods of time
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Working Conditions:
Hourly full- time position
Safety sensitive role
Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production, and non-production areas
This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant.
