SUMMARY

The CBRN Technician performs required preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and maintenance management functions in support of Marine Corps Consolidated Storage Program (CSP). The primary objective of the CSP is to provide organization and individual issue, recovery, storage, requisitioning, maintenance and repair, management (including visibility, accountability, automated shelf-life management, and forecasting) for equipment to support the warfighter. Under the auspices of the Marine Corps Logistics Command, the CSP is the Marine Corps designated manager of fielded ICE, CBRN-D, STAP and SWS&CN. Via a centrally managed global network of regional and individual base facilities, CSP ensures that Marines worldwide have a single access point for serviceable equipment to meet their mission requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:


  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on a broad range of equipment.
  • Perform assembly, disassembly, and inspection of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear - Defense, (CBRN-D) equipment to include the M26 Joint Service Transportable Decontamination System.
  • Conduct operational and organizational maintenance and evacuate equipment requiring maintenance above the organizational level.
  • Maintain maintenance management records.
  • Develop and execute preventive and corrective maintenance schedule.
  • Develop calibration control plan.
  • Execute calibration schedule.
  • This position performs all warehousing activities, to include, issuing receiving, storing, reconstitution, inventorying, and shipping bulk and individual gear and equipment.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

No supervisory or management authority.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or a GED equivalent and a minimum of two years relevant experience in maintenance and maintenance management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES


  • Extensive maintenance background of broad range of equipment.
  • Thorough understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Operational abilities with maintenance records and record keeping.
  • Operational abilities with DOD equipment calibration and calibration control.
  • Practical knowledge of equipment testing and troubleshooting
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen.
  • Must be able to pass a National Agency Check (NAC) investigation to obtain base access and DoD computer system access.
  • Must be detailed-oriented, demonstrate good time-management skills and manage workload with minimal oversight.
  • The following physical abilities: vision with normal color and depth perception, capable of lifting and carrying 50lbs.

  • In-depth knowledge of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense Equipment (CBRN-D).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Moderate to Loud sound (e.g., construction sites, warehouses, people traffic), extensive outdoor weather conditions and all routine job tasks inherent in position; the ability to stand and walk one-third to two-third of the time; the ability to talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel; close vision; color vision; depth perception and ability to correct and adjust focus.
