Role:

The Insurance Customer Service Representative will assist customers and potential customers with their insurance needs; selling insurance and assisting customers with all insurance needs.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:


  • Assist customer inquiries in person and over the phone

  • Promote and represent the agency and make referrals to other departments

  • Assist customers with all insurance needs

  • Call on customers and potential customers

  • Maintain records and process claims

  • Take payments from customers

  • Make changes to policies

  • Write insurance quotes for customers

  • Research acceptable policies for each customer and issue policies when necessary

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education and/or Experience.


  • One month to twelve months of similar or related experience

  • High school education or GED

  • Understands basic accounting procedures

  • Knowledge of office equipment

  • Has strong customer service skills and enjoys working with the public

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations.


  • Licensure in Property/Casualty, others as needed

  • Willingness to test for additional licenses

Interpersonal Skills.


  • Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Strong sales and communication skills.
