Job Description

Summary:The Equipment Superintendent acts as the central point of contact for all equipment support services for construction projects. The successful candidate will manage all equipment within a project.

Responsibilities:

Including but not limited to:

*Procure, monitor utilization, and manage short term rentals (

*Develop relationship and utilize relationships with key dealer and vendor after-purchase service and support personnel.

*Responsible for overall working condition, productivity, repair costs, and appearance of equipment.

*Ensure pre-shift equipment and fleet walk around inspections are performed.

*Evaluate and act upon all oil sample results as needed.

*Ensure rolling stock equipment work orders are completed. Plan and manage all needed repairs.

*Evaluate need for repairs, evaluate repair options, and oversee cost of equipment repairs. Consult Equipment Manager as needed.

*Manage spare parts inventory for area.

*Enter work orders for all repairs estimated to cost over $5000 in parts & labor.

*Approve all invoices and labor charged to equipment.

*Manage yearly DOT inspection program

*Conduct and document periodic personnel-lift, fork lift, and crane inspections.

*Accumulate and enter equipment hour meter readings monthly

*Ensure accuracy of all hour meter readings entered manually or via telematics.

*Monitor equipment utilization.

*Monitor rental equipment costs.

*Ensure all people, equipment, and processes are working in a safe manner meeting all local, state, and federal laws.

*Attend and be engaged in project scheduling and progress meetings.

*Keep project management team apprised of costs, schedule, and specific activities affecting them.

*Carry out job duties while maintaining Lane values.

*And other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

*5+years technical experience in management of heavy construction equipment.

*Prior experience in heavy equipment repairs and or management of heavy equipment repairs is highly desired.

*Flexibility with working hours, including a willingness to work extended hours, weekends as needed.

*Computer skills and experience with Word and Excel.

*Good verbal and written communication skills.
