DESCRIPTION SHIFT: Mixed (rotating weekends)

SCHEDULE: Full-time

PHLEBOTOMIST

Schedule: Monday-Friday from 3:00am-11:30am with Rotating Weekends

Location: Medical City Dallas Hospital

Medical City offers a full-service adult hospital and pediatric hospital, with separate adult and pediatric emergency rooms, as well as numerous outpatient clinics and diagnostic centers. Our providers have access to state-of-the-art technology and are pioneering new medical procedures every day to accommodate patient needs. Phlebotomist Job Description:

* Phlebotomist obtains lab samples by various means including venipuncture.

* Check and maintains supplies for work assignments.

* Responsible for excellent customer service through various duties including answering telephone calls, charting patient results, and other duties as needed.

* Serves infant to geriatric patient populations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Phlebotomist Job Requirements:

* High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required.

* High school students will be considered provided they are enrolled in a Health Occupations Vocation Program (HOSA/HOE).

* Ability to learn venipuncture and other lab sample collection procedures.

* Basic anatomy and medical terminology required.

* Basic computer skills required.

* Sufficient sight (including color discrimination), mental concentration, manual dexterity and mobility to function effectively in exercising job responsibilities in a fast paced, high volume laboratory.
