Medical City Children's Hospital, a part of Medical City Dallas, is a 220-bed comprehensive and specialized children's hospital providing advanced pediatric health care for young patients of all ages, from newborns to teenagers. Pediatric specialties at Medical City Children's Hospital include pediatric cardiac surgery, pediatric emergency services, pediatric cancer care (hematology and oncology), pediatric orthopedics, neurosurgery, craniofacial surgery, pediatric transplant and kidney care, and a Level IV NICU.

The Nurse Manager is responsible for all department functions in support of the hospital mission, vision and facility goals.

The Nurse Manager is an RN and accepts responsibility for critical thinking decisions within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.

* Provides leadership, clinical expertise, and functional direction to Pediatric Cardiac Noninvasive Vascular Lab, Pediatric Cath Lab, and Pediatric CT Surgery supervisors and staff to achieve optimal perioperative patient outcomes.
* Create department specific initiatives and process improvement.
* Integrate collaborative practice and working relationships with all members of the healthcare team.
* Accept responsibility for management of multiple levels of personnel (including supervisory positions), payroll, budget, capital, business plan, and physician relationships including recruitment endeavors.
* Serve as liaison for hospital, community and other institutions.
* Organize / Supervise human and material resources.
* Evaluates quality of perioperative practices in relation to established professional and legal standards. Collaborates with other disciplines to facilitate the delivery of patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degree in nursing required
* Master's degree in nursing or related field preferred
* Ten years of Operating Room experience with five years of perioperative nursing management experience.
* Demonstrates knowledge of financial implications of materials, equipment and human resources.
* Current Texas RN license or compact license.
* AHA or ARC BLS provider
* CNOR required within one year of hire/transfer or promotion or specialty certification, and Nurse Leader Certification preferred.
