Job Summary

Classification of Nurse Practitioner 1 or 2 will be determined based upon the qualifications of the selected candidate.

The Breast Oncology Nurse Practitioner in collaboration with the breast oncology physicians and the entire Breast Care Center provide a multidisciplinary team approach to patients that have been diagnosed with breast cancer, from newly diagnosed to survivorship.

This Nurse Practitioner will be a member of a team of Nurse Practitioners that work in collaboration with 10 Breast Oncologist.

UCSF Medical Center requires all Advanced Practice Providers (APP) to be credentialed through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governances (OMAG) in order to practice and function in their clinical role. This applies to both adult and pediatric APPs in the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings at all UCSF Medical Center sites (Parnassus, Mt. Zion, Satellite Clinics, et al). Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days and must be completed prior to the first working day.

Required Qualifications

NP 1:

* Three years of recent relevant medical oncology RN employment experience

* Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in the State of California

* Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California

* Active American Heart Association CPR Certification

* Active NP Furnishing License

* Active and/or transferable DEA License to California and provide evidence by 90th day of clinical practice; it is the responsibility of the employee to transfer their DEA License to their new place of employment if from out of state, via online DEA portal and provide evidence of transfer

* Current national certification from an accepted certifying agency and provide by first day of work

* Completed a recognized graduate Master s Degree program as a Nurse Practitioner

* Submitted enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day; CCS enrollment as appropriate for Pediatric environments

* State regulation requires that you have a supervising physician to practice

* Possesses the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to successfully perform the duties of the assigned position

* The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations

NP 2:

* Three years recent relevant medical nursing experience

* Six months related employment experience as Nurse Practitioner

* All requirements of NP 1

Preferred Qualifications

* Breast Oncology experience

* Research experience

* Experience working in an Academic Medical Center
