Job Description:

Corporate Tax has four principal responsibilities: Make sure that the thousands of income tax returns the firm files are both accurate and timely, structure the firm's operations and legal entity structure to ensure it operates as tax-efficiently as possible, support the businesses on tax-related issues, and protect the firm from tax-related reputational risk.

You'll be joining the team that manages the IRS audit of JPMorgan Chase & Co. The Federal Audit team handles ongoing audits with the IRS, responds to IDRs, as well as reviews any conclusions the IRS may arrive at. We'll be looking for you to focus on the IRS audit of U.S. international tax matters. You will be responsible for gathering and validating data, coordinating cross-functionally to ensure timely IRS responses and researching tax positions. You will work directly with the IRS audit team under the leadership of the Head of Federal Tax Audits.

Primary Description:

• Partner closely with the line of business front office and operational teams, Corporate Tax colleagues, external service providers and advisors, and functional support group personnel located both within and outside the region to deliver technical and commercial tax advice to manage tax risk for the bank
• Perform research on global tax issues impacting portfolio investors, with a focus on various regions, including domestic law, double tax treaties and international organization guidance
• Work in cross functional teams to perform tax due diligence on new business initiative
• Review legal agreements with respect to tax related matter
• Pursue constant and effective communication with all stakeholders

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a tax professional in a professional services organization or large corporation, preferably focused on international tax concepts
• Big 4 experience preferred
• CPA preferred
• Understanding of international aspects of U.S. taxation, including transfer pricing, earnings and profits, Subpart F, foreign tax credit and TCJA provisions, as well as their relevance to U.S. compliance and tax reporting
• Experience representing taxpayers in front of the IRS and familiarity with IRS audit procedural rules preferred
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to build and adapt complex tax models
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
• Strong oral, written, interpersonal, technical communication and presentation skills
• Advanced Excel skills required
