The Y offers developmentally appropriate, curriculum-based programs that help children grow personally, learn values, improve personal relationships, appreciate diversity, become better leaders and supporters, and develop specific skills and assets. Group and individual activities include leadership development activities, arts & humanities projects, healthy snack time & physical activities, STEM activities, Social Responsibility projects, and more!
This year, Treasure Valley Family YMCA is expanding school age child care to support families during virtual learning. This program will align with adjusted school district calendars and virtual learning environments, and will provide academic support along with physical and enrichment activities. School Age Teachers are responsible for providing a high quality, developmentally appropriate experience for the children in the program.
Key Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old. Must have or be willing to obtain a Child Care license upon hire. The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge and experience in developing and implementing daily lesson plans and creating an environment to meet the cognitive, social, emotional and physical needs of the kids. Applicants must be able to build warm and supportive relationships with children, families, and staff in the program.
Schedule Requirements: Mondays, 10 hour shifts 6:45-4:45 or 8:15-6:15. Additional sub-shifts will be available at other locations on an as-needed basis.
Physical Requirements: Job requires ability to walk, stand, sit (including on the floor), bend, lean, and kneel in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings for extended periods. Must have the ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
COVID-19 considerations: The Y has successfully offered child care and day camp programs by implementing small groups and following health and safety guidelines recommended by the CDC and Central District Heath. The safety of staff and participants is our priority!
