Job Description

Manages and directs the daily activities of the mortgage operations department. Ensures the quality and quantity of loan documents meets company and regulatory standards. Responsible for timely completion of required training applicable to the position and regular and effective application of such training in the performance of the position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide a bullet listing of the positions responsibilities and purpose for the responsibility
* Manages pipeline insuring that timelines, department goals and customer expectations are met. Sets performance goals for staff to meet/exceed. Tracks and measures performance goals for the department and individual staff.
* Coordinates and supervises staff assignments. Hires, trains and evaluates employees based on mutually agreed upon goals. Ensures that associates are knowledgeable of required compliance regulations and are applied to day-to-day activities. Coordinates regular Operations meetings, agenda and stats. May also attend sales meetings with loan originators.
* Prepares, maintains and implements policy, procedures and processes for residential loan operations department to function efficiently and economically. This includes the accountability for maintaining origination, processing and closing systems and interface enhancements to assure the operation runs as efficiently as possible and data integrity is maintained.
* Researches problems and answers questions regarding loan processing, documentation and compliance. Provides direction and support to bank personnel, such as lenders and senior management in the processing of loans.
* Reviews loan documentation for structure and format so that company's legal position is adequate. Prepares documentation for complex loans. Ensures accurate preparation and perfection of collateral documents is maintained.
* Coach and counsel at least two associates in the Mortgage department.
* All other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists with directing, coordinating, and evaluating designated units or certain personnel in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; providing pay change recommendations; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor (4-year college) from four-year college or university; and a minimum of 5 years of related experience and/or training preferably as a Mortgage Loan Processor or Mortgage Originator. Experience supervising required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILLS/ABILITIES
Requires incumbent to be detail oriented and have reconciliation skills. Also requires good interpersonal skills and a highly motivated individual.
COMPUTER AND OFFICE EQUIPMENT SKILLS
1. Microsoft Office suite
2. Special software: Experience with mortgage processing system required, experience with E3 a plus; Knowledge of automated underwriting systems preferred; Good working knowledge of desktop underwriting system a plus

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
License NMLS is required, CPA a plus
