Overview:

Veeco's Precision Surface Processing (PSP) division, located in our state-of-the-art facility in Horsham, PA designs and develops wafer wet processing capabilities in markets that include Semiconductor Advanced Packaging (including 2.5D and 3D IC's), MEMS, Compound Semiconductor, front-end of line (FEOL) and back-end of line (BEOL), photomask, and flat panel displays. The Manufacturing Technicianis assigned to a specific tool and works directly with the wiring or sub-assembly groups. This is a fast paced working environment with the opportunity for overtime and career growth opportunities. Our facility has been in business for 54 years and is growing.

This is a first shift position - hours are 7:30 a.m. -4:00 p.m.

Responsibilities:

- Build all aspects of production machines (mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, plumbing) with the ability to read PSP plumbing and electrical schematics

- Assure thatVeeco quality standards are being followed at all times

- Responsible for working to meet shipping schedule goals

- Troubleshoot all aspects of production tools

- Ensure discrepant parts and design problems are conveyed to supervisor and management team

- Inputdocumentationinto assembly manual and production logbook

- Ensure delivery of azero-defect product at a production QA

- Manage direct hand-off of tool to shipping once complete

- Ability to work overtime hours as needed

Qualifications:

Level II: Trade or Technical School diploma, High School diploma and a minimum 2-3 years of experience in a related field

Must be able to read plumbing and electrical schematics.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Ability to bend, plumb and integrate all tubing connections (stainless steel Swagelok and Flare Tek TFE fittings) according to a plumbing schematic

- Experience with small gauge wire stripping, pin crimping and terminating.

- Knowledge of hand tools and light metal working skills (drilling and tapping metal) required

- Experience with control software on automated machines

- Able to work with minimal supervision

- Ability to see a process through from start to finish

- Strong attention to detail

- Capacity to produce a high-quality work product

- Must be comfortable functioning as part of a high-performing team

- Frequently positions and moves self to effectively and efficiently assemble the machine being built

- Occasionally lift and move 25 pounds in and around the machine being built

- Occasionally ascend/descend a ladder to service the machine being built
