POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Summary/Purpose:

- Design custom and standard integrated products. Products to be designed include vacuum manifolds, semiconductor systems, effluent traps, silicone and fiberglass heaters, heated subsystems.

Major Responsibilities:

- Senior Mechanical Engineer will assist in the engineering and development of MKS process solutions that improve Semiconductor OEM tool efficiency, up time and yield.

- Be proficient in all vacuum related MKS products that can be used in the solutions (Heaters, traps, vacuum hardware, valves and gauging).

- Develop close working relationships with engineering and management teams at the Semiconductor OEM's.

- Drive internally the customers' needs, specifications and schedules to ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining the company's business objective and profitability.

- Generate project quotations for customer.

- Design the actual vacuum system using CAD software incorporating MKS products.

- Follow the semiconductor roadmap trends through active customer engagement. Understand the impact of the trends and communicate these trends with the MKS management team.

- With the knowledge of roadmap trends provide input to the engineering team for future product development.

- Monitor competitive activity & customer needs

Skill Requirements:

- BSc in Engineering, Mechanical or related technical degree.

- Familiarity with semiconductor OEM's, processes, tool types and industry trends. Advantageous to understand process by-products and chemistry.

- Strong Interpersonal and presentation skills with perseverance and self-confidence to work at all levels within the customers' and internal organizations. A team player.

- Minimum 2 years' experience in a customer related application engineering role.

- Develop quotations for customers using MRP system to obtain costing.

- Hands on knowledge of vacuum system design, measurement and control.

- Experience in developing heaters that fit on to hardware and valves for the OEM tool. Understanding thermodynamic principles of heat transfer, radiation and loss a plus.

- Minimum 2 years' experience designing vacuum components and systems, using Auto Desk Inventor CAD software. Experience using Auto Desk Simulation and CFD software a plus.

- Experience with engineering documentation, engineering change procedures, bills of materials.

- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools.

Education:

- BSME in Mechanical Engineering required with an advanced degree preferred.
