The RN in PAT will prepare patients for surgery. As a Pre-admission testing nurse or PAT nurse, your duties include overseeing intake, during which you perform an initial physical assessment and interview the patient to obtain their medical history. You also perform any tests the surgeon has ordered, such as an EKG, and you may be expected to draw blood for lab work. PAT nurses are often among the first people patients deal with as they prepare to have surgery, so you are expected to help them understand the process, answer any questions they might have, and discuss their post-surgical care plan with them.

Experience
* Minimum of two years' RN experience in the specific field.

Education/Certification
* Associates in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma RN from an accredited school of nursing required.
* Bachelor's in Nursing (BSBN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred.
* Current RN License or Compact License deemed by the OK State Board of Nursing required.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire required.
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 60 days of hire required.
* Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire required.
