POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for performing clinical duties in the management of ambulatory patients and assisting with front office duties as needed. This position is an integral part of the provider office team working under the direction of a licensed healthcare practitioner. Work situations are a variety of clinical functions within a clinic setting requiring knowledge and integration of available standards, resources, and data; performance of safe clinical skills within the scope of practice of the MA-C/LPN; discretion; good judgment; diplomacy; decision making; and a customer service attitude. This position has continuous contact with providers, nurses, patients, patient families/ significant others, community agencies, and MHS patient care staff and management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of an accredited program for Medical Assistants required
One (1) year experience in physician's office or other medical facility preferred

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) or
Licensed as a practical nurse in the state of Washington
BLS certification required

This position will be filled with either a Licensed Practical Nurse or a Certified Medical Assistant.
