Reporting to the VP, Ethics & Compliance, this hands-on role leads a global team of Trade Compliance specialists supporting the business across 20 locations.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
Directly supervise a team of Trade Compliance Specialists
Act as consultant and advisor to the Executive Team and Business Leaders in regards to Export License matters
Identify, manage and implement continuous performance improvement enhancements to the overall Trade Compliance function
Assist in the development of training material for stakeholders
Prepare organization for upcoming (possible) regulatory changes
Manage possible customs audits
Support classification process
Oversees and directs compliance initiatives to maintain compliance with national, and local regulations.
Plans and implements company compliance related policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory, national and local regulations.
Consults and collaborates with vendor partners to ensure all are complying with scope of work and obligations per contracts
Supports leadership in the implementation of short and long-term operational projects for each site as needed.
Manages new vendors as needed, preparing scope of work, interfacing with strategic sourcing to procure services to identify and justify sourced selections, monitors performance to meet cost and schedule.
Aids 3D Systems and site leadership in the planning of new business requirements (consolidation, expansion, line rearrangements) in line with strategic business objectives
Maintains working knowledge of new developments in the industry and government regulations.
Inspects and audits business and functional procedures and processes to detect existing or potential failures, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
Make sight visits when necessary to conduct audits, trainings or observations.
Anticipate potential business impacts of changing regulatory requirements
Education and Training:
Bachelor's degree preferred with a related degree or at least 10 years of combined professional experience in the areas of Trade Compliance.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years overall trade compliance experience.
Minimum of 5 year experience leading a trade compliance function
Strong preference for individuals with experience managing and dealing with US Government or US Government suppliers. ITAR & EAR
Familiar with developing formal investigations, and managing government and intra company audits.
Working for a global company in a matrix reporting environment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Additional working knowledge of US Federal trade regulations, as well as access to European and Asian trade regulations is preferred
