Job Description:

The Vice President of Home Lending Regulatory Reporting Controllers Team will be responsible for managing reporting requirements and preparing monthly and quarterly reports to federal regulators including Federal Reserve Board (FRB) and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

You will interact with members across various teams (HL Line of Business, HL Risk, technology, MIS, Product Controllers, etc.) in order to further refine regulatory reporting.

We are looking for a leader in the financial regulatory reporting area who has the unique combination of strong technical and interpersonal skills to drive the continuous data improvement.

The individual will have a deepened understanding of the Home Lending business in order to effectively evaluate and analyze the data in relation to the business results and other externally reported information.

Specific responsibilities:


  • Manage a global team of six located in a minimum of two locations
  • Comfortable analyzing and manipulating large data sets and conducting root cause analysis to understand and remediate reporting anomalies
  • Responsible for detailed documentation of Requirements/Requirement interpretation
  • Conduct data research to triage issues, identify root cause and recommend solutions to fix data defects
  • Work with other teams (Wealth Management, IT, Data Stewards & Risk etc.) to identify data issues and improve data quality for regulatory filings
  • Work closely with technology and the business as new source systems are boarded and others are decommissioned
  • Preparation of various reporting metrics for inclusion in presentations to Executive Steering Committee and HL Senior Management
  • Work closely with the Federal Reserve FRB and OCC regarding report health

Specific skills:

  • Able to comprehend both mortgage servicing/operational requests and create an efficient delivery process for clients (both senior management & external)
  • Ability to use advanced analytical methods and tools to validate the results for accuracy
  • Able to properly document source to target mappings, process flows, and business requirements.
  • Solid facilitation skills to gather the necessary information to document and/or develop a plan - strategic/tactical
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills are critical
  • Previous programming experience on Oracle and/or MS SQL Server is required - or related technologies that encapsulate SQL
  • Serve as a process expert for a defined functional area, which includes:

1. Managing key data sources & inputs

2. Planning and ensuring implementation of end state automation activities

3. Providing guidance on the design, development, and implementation of automated processes

Qualifications:


  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, MIS, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics or related area
  • 8+ years of Business Analysis, Process Improvement, or Project Management Experience
  • 4+ years of Mortgage/Banking/finance analytical support experience preferred, but not mandatory
  • Strong SQL skills with the potential to learn other technical skills (Python, Tableau, Alteryx, etc.)
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and advanced data manipulation functions (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, ODBC, VBA) is required
  • Works collaboratively in an ever-changing business environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, strong judgment, professional maturity, personal integrity, proactive and results-oriented
  • Proficiency in Word, and Power Point (required)
  • Solid understanding of the development (SDLC) or project life cycle, which includes all phases from discovery/analysis through implementation
