Student Finance Processor at TWS Acquisition Corporation

Job Description:

Most students that pass through our trade schools require financial assistance to pay for their vocational training; they want to invest in an education that will enable them to live their dream of working in one of our country’s essential trades. The successful applicant for this important position in our Student Financial Services (SFS) team will play a vital role in helping prospective students achieve their dreams.


 


This holder of this position will be responsible for monitoring controls that impact the administration of Title IV Federal Student Aid (FSA), state and institutional funding programs, while ensuring compliance and accuracy at all times. Excellent attention to detail is a must, of course, for the successful applicant, as is an engaging personality. We need you to be a great communicator too because we will expect you to deliver outstanding customer service to our prospective students at all times.


 


Role Responsibilities:


Working in the Student Finance team, you will conduct all activities with the highest integrity and ethics according to school policies, and federal and state regulations.



  • The successful applicant will accept individual Financial Aid applications/forms from prospective students and then review those applications to ensure they have been fully completed and are accurate. You will verify the information reported on student applications to determine eligibility for FSA awards.

  • You will ensure funding is awarded according to federal and institutional regulations, guidelines, and policies.

  • You will review and submit records processed through the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) system and provide enrollment status reporting to the National Student Loan Database (NLDS); you will also undertake resolution of ISIR C Codes and award calculations.

  • The successful applicant will also review and batch manual awards.

  • It is important to review reporting and queries to maintain established controls for compliant processing.

  • You will ensure timely resolution of credit balances on the student ledger according to Credit Balance Policy.

  • At all times you must interpret, apply, and comply with federal, state, and institutional regulations governing student Financial Aid.

  • Maintaining a working knowledge of all current guidelines/regulations related to Financial Aid is expected.

  • You will complete and review Return to Title IV Funds calculations and institutional refunds.

  • You will be expected to actively participate in all Student Financial Services (SFS) team meetings and events as assigned.

  • At all times, the successful applicant will provide exemplary customer service by interpreting regulations and providing subject matter expertise on issues related to Title IV regulation.

 


Required Knowledge, Education, and Experience:


The successful applicant requires an associate degree in related field and minimum two years of Financial Aid or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


 


People Responsibilities:


This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


 


 


Physical Environment:


This is an office position, although some work may be completed in a classroom or shop environment.



  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environm

  • The successful applicant may sit for long periods of time at a desk and/or at a compute

  • You will be required to use calculators, keyboards, phones, and other office equipment as needed.
