Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Global Order Management (GOM) team is looking for a Global Order Management Project Manager capable of growing and leading a group. Primary responsibilities will include identifying areas in the Global Order Management process that needs improving and through adapting methods and assigning accountabilities, improve the efficiency of the team and the level of service we provide. The Global Order Manager will directly support North America projects but will also lead and participate in initiatives and cross functional projects that will impact the global order management process. This will require representing the Global Order Management function to our internal departments across Dematic worldwide. These departments include, but are not limited to, solutions development, engineering, project management, planning, manufacturing, procurement, R&D and finance. In addition to North America, this position will support the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Asia Pacific (APAC) and China regions and projects as needed.

We are looking for a Project Manager with experience in executing large technical projects, leading a cross functional team and working directly with major (US$500+ million) customer accounts. In addition to leadership skills, the ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the global order fulfillment of complex, engineered-to-order systems; be a quick learner, flexible and adaptable. The right person will be extremely customer-focused, have an analytical mind and great communication skills. The GOM Project Manager will need to excel in a complex technical environment and be capable of successfully transferring both product and process knowledge to a global audience.

Responsibilities


  • Be a team player and strong leader to enable Dematic success, growth and continuous improvement globally.

  • Capable of leading a team and putting

  • Work closely with project management, engineering, manufacturing and other relevant departments to identify and resolve any risks to meeting our committed onsite date to our APAC customers and other regions as required.

  • Interact directly with customers, as appropriate, to provide project updates or answer specific inquiries

  • Escalate issues to the appropriate resource within Dematic and follow up with until resolved

  • Using Dematic’s business analytic tools, create and distribute reports as needed

  • Identify inefficiencies in the APAC Order Management Process and, based on continuous improvement methodology, formulate and execute process improvements

  • Participate in global process improvement and IT projects, as they apply to APAC and Global Order Management Initiatives

  • Create process and technical training documentation

  • Continuously evaluate the Global Order Management process and identify ways we can improve inefficiencies in order to improve our ability to improve

Qualifications


  • Excellent communication skills; spoken, written and presentation, with the ability to thrive in a cross cultural setting

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the global order fulfillment of complex, engineered-to-order systems

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or Operations Management

  • 5+ years in managing technical projects (Project Management certification a plus)

  • Exceptional collaboration skills to resolve multiplex problems

  • Experience successfully interacting and communicating directly with all levels of an organization and with major customer accounts (US$500 million +)

  • Solid understanding of supply chain and manufacturing processes

  • Knowledge and experience applying lean thinking and Continuous Improvement (CI) principles to increase efficiency across business processes

  • Experience using an ERP/MRP (preferably SAP)

  • Experience leading a cross functional team with positive results
