The HR Business Partner's areas of focus include but are not limited to: Partnering with Departmental Managers and Human Resources Manager to achieve strategic and tactical plans while developing and executing complementary people plans. Will provide leadership and support to key human resources and labor related initiatives that impact the entire plant. Will deploy employee and labor relations practices to include: employment and labor law, employee relations, compliance line, diversity/EEO, labor relations strategy, staffing, hourly employment practices and policy, and salaried administration. Will provide training for managers and supervisory employees.
This position will also source and attract candidates by using databases, social media, attending job fairs, etc. Conduct phone screens / in-person interviews and filter candidates for open positions. Role is responsible for the s ourcing of candidates using a variety of search methods to build a robust candidate pipeline.
Apply effective employee/labor relations tactics in developing a relationship with the union
Lead investigations arising from employee complaints, or from Ethics and Compliance and facilitate conflict resolution strategies, to include grievance resolution
Proactively drive positive change which leads to a high performing organization
Lead employee engagement activities and assist in fostering the partnership between the community and our employees
Coach managers in all areas of human resources
Source and attract candidates for open roles
Screen candidates by reviewing resumes and job applications, and performing phone screenings
Schedule, coordinate and conduct interviews
Facilitate the offer process and extend offers of employment to hourly candidates
Initiate background checks and physicals
Ensure all screening, hiring, and selection is done in accordance with company policy, employment laws and regulations
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a business discipline, (i.e. human resources, labor relations, business)
Demonstrated working knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, including but not limited to, EEO, ADA, ADEA, FLSA, Title VII and FMLA.
Demonstrated Computer skills (HRIS, ATS, Microsoft Office, etc.)
A minimum of 7 years prior Human Resources experience in manufacturing
5 years Human Resources experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Solid consultative skills, relationship building, problem solving, and coaching abilities
Organizational and time management skills
Detail-oriented with very strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Good understanding of employment laws and regulations
Ability to translate business strategy into human resources strategy
Solid analytical and problem-solving ability
Preferred Qualifications
Proven experience creating a diverse workforce and inclusive environment.
Prior labor relations experience
Experience working in organizations of 500 or more employees
