An exciting opportunity has just opened for an experienced and compassionate Nursing Manager to oversee this high-volume, high-acuity Clinical Decision Unit and ICU. This multi-specialty Critical Care and Clinical Decision Unit has a great reputation in the Central Valley for high-quality patient outcomes and a breadth of services officered. This unit is a common stop for patients when nursing and physician leaders are trying to decide what level of care they need going forward. The ICU Nursing Manager will take direct clinical and managerial control of this high-performing 20+ bed unit, and you’ll be accountable for keeping the staff and practice on the path to success. Clinical support will be provided by Interventionists and Hospitalists who are staffed around the clock.


Reporting to the Administrative Director of Critical Care Nursing, the ICU and Clinical Decision Unit Nursing Manager will oversee a large and high-acuity unit. Your talents will join those of an outstanding unit as you collaborate across disciplines and departments to ensure that patient care is front and center. Supported by a CCRN Nurse Supervisor and two Charge Nurses familiar with workflows in both ICU and Emergency Services, the Nursing Manager will lead a very strong team.


The Nursing Manager will play a crucial role in the clinical and administrative operations of the Clinical Decision and Critical Care Unit. In collaboration with inpatient financial analysts, you’ll develop and maintain the unit’s annual budget. The Nursing Manager will also take oversight of achieving and maintaining target staffing levels to ensure patient care and safety, as well as staying current on compliance standards for a number of regulatory agencies. Additionally, this Nurse Leader will provide vision, leadership, and mentorship to a strong staff of 70+ Critical Care Registered Nurses CCRN, Post Anesthesia RNs, and support staff by focusing on the continuum of care and optimizing patient flow.
