The responsibilities of the Hematology Medical Laboratory Scientist are to provide the physician with information for the diagnosis and treatment of patients. They are to maintain current knowledge and skills to performance of a wide variety of quantitative and qualitative analyses of body fluids and other materials to provide the physician with information for the diagnosis and treatment of patients. They are to maintain a minimum of 12 CE per year. It is required to operate of laboratory computer system as it relates to daily laboratory operations. This includes the running of daily worklists and resolving issues that may be presented as well as operation and troubleshooting of analyzers instrumental in daily laboratory operations. Reporting and communicating results to physicians, medical staff and offices including documentation of critical values as per policy. This Scientist demonstrates service excellence in all patient care activities and promotes an environment of service excellence in work area.
