You’ll take administrative-level control a premier Women’s Services line, Family Birthing Center, and Children’s / Pediatrics department in this 200+ bed medical center that’s served the community for well over 50 years. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), the Women’s and Children’s Nursing Director will serve as executive council on matters concerning Obstetrics, Neonatal Nursery, Labor & Delivery, and Birthing health services. Working in collaboration with experts from the finance department you’ll develop, maintain, and evaluate an effective annual budget. Working with the Director of Emergency Services and Admitting department, you’ll help evaluate policy and procedure for efficient triage of peripartum patients. Within your administrative duties, you’ll also find many opportunities to implement and re-envision Lean Process improvements to drive efficiencies.

The Women’s & Children’s Services Nursing Director will serve as a clinical and operations expert for an amazing group of nurses across Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby Postpartum, a High-Acuity Nursery, and a Level II High-Risk Pregnancy program. Supporting the Nursing Director in each unit are:

• A Clinical Nurse Manager and a Lead who oversees a 10-bed LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) Unit, where everything is built around family togetherness and the health of mother and baby.


• An OB Nurse Supervisor who oversees one Labor & Delivery Operating room and an 8 bed Postpartum unit (used primarily for recovery after C-Sections). This person also oversees a 12-bed Level II Nursery.A Clinical Nursing Supervisor who’s in charge of a 6-bed Inpatient Pediatrics program, along with outpatient Children’s Services.

The Nursing Director will take oversight of the clinical and operational duties in this busy Women’s and Children’s Services department. You’ll get to serve as a mentor and leader to an amazing family of nursing and support staff, as well as a sponsor and collaborator on education initiatives. Encompassing both sides of this coin, the Director will be an advocate for improving patient satisfaction and nursing quality at every step. Working with other department leaders, financial leaders, and physician leaders, you’ll have opportunities to address periodic budgets and play a large role in optimizing department operations.
