Job Description:

UPS is seeking an experienced Associate Automotive Fleet Supervisor to maintain a safe, reliable, and cost-efficient fleet of vehicles. He/She assists Automotive Fleet management with the use and care of physical assets, controls costs, manages external vendor relationships, works closely with auto technicians and internal customers and performs regular equipment and facility audits across multiple shifts and locations. This is a development position intended to supervise automotive technicians at the completion of the Automotive Development Program (ADP). If you're driven, self-motivated and looking for an exciting automotive career with an industry leader, we want to hear from you!

The primary responsibility of the Associate Automotive Fleet Supervisor is to learn through on-the-job training, assigned training modules and classes, and progress into an Automotive Fleet Supervisor position. To do this, the Associate Automotive Fleet Supervisor will learn to perform and schedule preventative maintenance inspections, review results, monitor repairs, and perform vehicle audits to ensure technicians adhere to safety, regulatory and appearance standards. He/She will also learn to identify root causes, cost saving strategies, and support automotive safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Schedules maintenance, monitors repairs, expenses and inventory levels, and checks vehicle performance and safety
  • Analyzes failures and communicates improvement opportunities
  • Analyzes cost of labor hours, adheres to purchase limits and follows expense approval procedures
  • Follows equipment disposal guidelines and develops replacement strategies
  • Completes computer based training outlined in the ADP training track to maintain compliance
  • Participates in required webinars and workshops to evaluate proficiency in areas of responsibility and drive improvement
  • Creates and maintains performance metrics outlined in ADP training track to identify issues and opportunities for improvement
  • Participates in mentoring programs to enhance professional development

Knowledge and Skills

  • Technical knowledge of tools and methods to maintain and repair equipment and machinery
  • Understanding of mechanical fundamentals, maintenance, diagnosis and repairs to vehicles or fleet operation
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in meetings, training sessions and correspondence with vendors, suppliers and customers
  • Automotive technical/maintenance experience
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean driving record for past 12 months with ability to obtain DOT certification
  • Willing to work flexible shifts, with the ability to travel as needed
  • Bachelor's Degree, Technical or Vocational Degree, ASE Master Tech and/or L1 certification or Military certifications - Preferred
