Job Description:

SUMMARY:   Perform routine and confidential clerical duties for the Legal Department.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Manage front desk reception area

·        Perform general clerical duties such as collecting / distributing department mail, answering / directing telephone calls, ordering / maintaining supplies, general typing and basic research.

·        Manage / maintain department spread sheets to log and track check payments, fee invoices, and legal suit actions

·        Manage department file room and electronic filing for department.

·        Assist Staff Attorney

·        Assist Paralegals

·        Assist Bankruptcy Clerks

·        Ensure all actions performed are in compliance with government regulations and organizational policies and procedures.

 

 

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES/EXPERIENCE

·        Position requires a high school diploma or GED plus practical knowledge and skills acquired on the job.

·        Up to six months experience

·        Excellent PC skills with knowledge of Word, Excel and other applicable software.

·        Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.

·        Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously

·        Excellent oral and written communication skills

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

·        Normal office conditions

·        Works in a timeline driven production oriented atmosphere

·        Works under regular supervision based on demonstrated proficiency in carrying out assigned responsibilities.
