Responsibilities

Dematic Corp has an immediate need for an Engineering Manager in Solution Development at our Grand Rapids, MI; Austin, TX; Milwaukee, WI or Atlanta, GA office. This position will report directly to the Sr. Director, Solution Development NA. The Solution Development Engineering Manager will supervise the Solution Development Group's Solution Design Team comprised of Controls or Mechanical Engineers, Solution Concept Developers and Solution Consultants. The successful candidate will have 5-8 years’ experience leading engineers on large scale projects in the material handling industry.

Essential Role and Responsibilities:


  • Provides direction and guidance to the Solution Development Team in all aspects of Dematic’s solutions.

  • Evaluates new opportunities and makes assignments based on area of expertise and workload.

  • Manages by designing/implementing processes that provide high level of customer satisfaction at effective cost.

  • Develops and manages budget, KPIs, Objectives, and Key Results.

  • Demonstrates the ability to build credibility and confidence with a wide variety of leaders including internal stakeholders, customers and vendors and be a trusted advisor.

  • Demonstrates understanding and application of supervisory approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action.

  • Demonstrates the ability to innovate and create strategies that significantly improve practices that enable the organization to achieve business and technical results.

  • Demonstrates the ability and experience working effectively in a self-directed, proactive, results-oriented, complex, fast paced environment across all levels.

Qualifications

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree required. Masters strongly preferred.

  • 8+ years of logistics and automation experience, with 5+ years of direct applicable management experience.

  • Must be extremely knowledgeable with the interworking of a Distribution Center.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including an ability to communicate with the senior leadership team, customers, and internal stakeholders.

  • Proficient with AutoCAD and 3D Design preferred.

  • Willingness to travel 15 – 25%.
