Harrington Cancer Center is a department within the BSA Health System and has provided care for oncology patients throughout the Texas Panhandle for 30 years. Harrington Cancer Center sees over 100 patients a day and sees all patients of all ages.

Job Summary:

The PET CT Technologist provides health care services applying radioactive tracer, gamma camera, and computed tomography to assist in diagnosis. The PET CT Technologist performs PET CT procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation which were requested by a licensed practitioner. Responsibilities include collaboration with the Administrative and Medical Directors on technical issues, monitoring of equipment maintenance, performance of quality control procedures, participation in service development and budget initiatives, and maintenance of imaging protocols. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. The PET CT Technologist adheres to national, institutional and/or department standards, policies, and procedures requiring patient care which includes inpatient and outpatient ranging in age from pediatric to geriatric age groups.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

* Graduate from a Joint Commission-accredited Nuclear Medicine program

* Current State of Texas license in Nuclear Medicine Technology and current certification by NMTCB, ARRT-N or ASCP-N.

* Current CPR certification

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

* 1 year of nuclear medicine experience preferred; candidates finished with training and registered or registry eligible will be considered.

* Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills

* Excellent verbal/written communication skills

* Ability to analyze and communicate complex regulatory information in understandable terms

* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
