Job Description: Activision Blizzard is looking for a seasoned Director, Global Media Activation and Investment, to lead the in-house media buying across Activision, Blizzard, and Esports business units. This leader will be focused on ensuring the success of global paid media campaigns for a variety of games and products - including but not limited to Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, and Overwatch.
The Director will have strong experience managing in-house media operations (agency and/or client side) for direct-to-consumer digital products, ideally within gaming, at scale and worldwide. The ideal candidate should have a strong background planning and deploying sophisticated, cross channel, performance, and brand campaigns. Responsibilities
Manage, grow, and mentor a robust team of paid media activation managers and specialists
Oversee execution of global, multi-million dollar paid marketing campaigns across channels to meet campaign objectives and KPIs across Activision, Blizzard, and Esports business units
Monitor paid media performance across franchises and produce additional reports and analyses as required
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal marketing, strategy, and analytics teams across various projects to ensure business objectives are met
Develop and execute complex paid media strategies across multiple channels, including paid social, paid search, programmatic, OOH, CTV, etc
Work with the analytics team on attribution and development of a measurement framework and management of data dashboards so they are of use both operationally and strategically
Manage centralization of paid media planning and buying across territories while ensuring local support, alignment, and relevance
Streamline and standardize paid media campaign processes across different business units
Monitor latest trends in digital advertising to improve campaign performance and provide recommendations on how to best leverage new tools and services
Required Skills
8+ years' experience in paid media
Hands on keyboard experience in a paid media discipline required, agency experience preferred
Ability to take product and campaign briefs and translate them into strategic media plans focused on appropriate campaign KPIs and business goals
Experience managing multi-million dollar paid media campaigns across multiple KPIs
Experience managing a dispersed team across multiple territories and business units
Must have experience in managing programmatic, paid social, SEM, and partner direct media, either directly or indirectly (as a team lead)
Comprehensive knowledge of the entire online marketing ecosystem and upcoming trends
Expert knowledge in developing paid media strategic plans for products in varying stages of the product lifecycle
Experience with Google Campaign manager and Appsflyer, other adserving or mobile measurement partners a plus.
Web analytics through Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics experience a plus, but not required
Solid understanding of acquisition and brand metrics and how they relate to lifetime value
Excellent communication skills with the ability to create a narrative highlighting actionable insights
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
Solid business acumen, management, and problem-solving skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
