Position Summary:
The laboratory is involved with working on novel methods for controlling the transmission of vector-borne diseases, specifically malaria and dengue fever. In addition, they are working on the development of vaccines and drug targets for human malaria. The incumbent will provide assistance to the Laboratory Manager and principal insectary personnel, including maintenance of mosquito colonies used in experiments, care of vertebrate animals used to feed insects, as well as keeping records of experiments. The incumbent will work under direct supervision.
Compensation Range:
Hourly: $17.33 - $18.31

Required:
Graduation from high school or a General Education Diploma and one year of laboratory experience or two years of college including courses in the natural, physical or social sciences; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position. Willing to work with vertebrate animals used to feed mosquitoes willing to anesthetize and monitor vertebrate animals
Preferred:
Knowledge of mosquito care Knowledge of insectary practices
