Idaho National Laboratory s (INL) Specific Manufacturing Capability (SMC) group is seeking forward-thinking, professionals interested in exploring a technical career as a Mechanical Engineer in a manufacturing environment!

At SMC, we apply the principles of mechanical engineering to develop initial concepts, develop novel solutions and troubleshoot operational problems of mechanical systems relative to force, load, wear, motion, energy, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.

Responsibilities Include:

* Modifications and upgrades to mechanical systems associated with SMC production and facility equipment as needed to maintain functionality or improve performance or function.

* Selection, specification, and procurement of replacement, modified or new mechanical components to ensure mission sustainability of manufacturing and infrastructure systems.

* Tracks, trends, and analyzes performance, leads troubleshooting/repair, modifies and upgrades mechanical systems associated with SMC production and facility equipment to maintain functionality or improve performance.

* Specifies type, rigor and periodicity of system/equipment corrective and preventative Maintenance.

* Generate technical documents to support the engineering process such as calculations, evaluations, drawings and specifications.

* Provide technical solutions to safety or other problems that arise at SMC.

* Perform in the role of Project Engineer as assigned by technical lead or engineering manager for various SMC projects.

* Develop relationships with non-SMC personnel as needed to support work assignments if required technical inputs lie outside of normal expertise or education

* Mentor and coach SMC employees on Engineering/SMC/BEA requirements and priorities.

Minimum Requirements:

BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering

Must be able to obtain an L clearance

LEVEL 2:

* BS 2 years' experience

* MS 1 years' experience.

LEVEL 3:

* BS 5 years' experience

* MS 3 years' experience.

Must be a US citizen. Dual citizenship prohibited.
