TERADATA SENIOR DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR (SR. DBA) is responsible for providing technical support and guidance for the installation, configuration, administration, and support of the Teradata platform as well as general support to the development teams across the enterprise. The Sr. DBA facilitates large implementations and enables high availability of the application. Coordinates and communicates with application and infrastructure teams for adherence to best practices and process standardization. Focuses on process improvement to optimize the hardware and software assets to value add activities.

Responsibilities

* Teradata Senior Database Administrator (Sr. DBA) will be responsible for providing technical support for the database environment through developing and organizing databases and the assessment, optimization and implementation of new technologies

* Sr. DBA will work with architecture, application development and operations to help achieve a state-of-the-art environment that meets current and future business objectives

* Provides and designs tools to assist in the management of the database and transaction-processing environment

* Specialty in developing data analytics based solutions on large-scale (multi-terabytes) data

* Develops a security scheme for the database environment, as well as leading in disaster recovery if necessary

* Significant experience in the process of extracting data from multiple sources including a data warehouse environment

* Leads and works with cross-functional teams to build the physical databases and provide technical guidance during all phases of the development process

* Work with team in evaluating and implementing new technologies

* Ability to prioritize and manage concurrent projects, demonstrate initiative, and work independently with minimal supervision

* Provide regular, clear, and consistent communication (written and oral) on the status of projects, issues, and deliverables to partners and supervisors

* Work with vendor technical support to facilitate analysis of and resolution to technical issues

* Must possess a strong understanding of current agile development methodologies

* Thorough understanding of critical processes, including software development & project lifecycle (specifically Agile methods)

Education & Experience

* Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred

* 5+ years of experience in Teradata database administrative work
