Job Description:


The incumbent for this position will effectively manage the Department in all areas including space, research, personnel and facilities management and reports directly to the Department Chair. Provides assistance on business and financial direction, consultation and assistance to all departmental faculty and staff. Ensure that all University of Pittsburgh policies, procedures and guidelines are followed with the most current tools and knowledge available from central administrative departments. Develop and maintain accounts for start-up packages for faculty recruits.

Assist faculty with pre-award grant processes including budgeting, budget justification, completing grant applications, interpreting guidelines, and processing internal paperwork as needed. Manage all budget funds in order to meet the Department's needs within the framework of the overall budget goals of the School of Medicine and the University of Pittsburgh. Strive to ascertain that all ECU information is reported appropriately to the Dean's Office. In conjunction with the Chair, produce the Annual Reports and Business Plans. Ensure smooth transition of new faculty into the Department, striving to make sure that new faculty are aware of current University of Pittsburgh policies and procedures.
Will consider Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Accounting, or Finance with 5-7 years university experience. Master's Degree in Business Management/Administration preferred with 5-7 university experience.
