Job Description:


As a Regional Quality Engineer, you will provide support and expertise for selective Plant quality issues. This position will provide more rigor to our Plant quality processes and allow for an improved corrective action process for both customer and internal Plant issues. The Regional Quality Engineer will focus on our effectiveness metrics, which are a direct measure of how well we meet our customer's expectations as defined in the PPG Quality Policy and within our Coatings Services Operating System (CSOS)
Key Responsibilities


  • Provide Plant training, that supports problem investigation, data collection, data analysis, potential solution activities, identifying Root Cause and implementing permanent Corrective Actions
  • Provide continued Plant support until permanent actions to Root Cause(s) have been verified as effective for all Corrective Action involvement(s)
  • Ensure that all involved Projects; are planned, approved and are finalized in a timely manner.
  • Turning key Quality Techniques over to the plant for enduring sustainability
  • Ensures timely and accurate completion of documentation.
  • Providing relevant communication with associates and managers with respect to quality information and projects.

Qualifications:


  • BS with practical experience in Manufacturing or Quality, with Problem Solving experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience, utilizing formal problem solving techniques to resolve quality / manufacturing issues
  • Skilled in methodologies and techniques that support, problem investigation, data collection, data analysis, potential solution activities and identifying root cause findings.
  • Automotive / OEM Quality requirements preferred
  • Experience in the coatings industry (paint) preferred
  • Travel throughout the US is required

    • Estimated 65% working on-site at a CSV facility located throughout the USA & Canada

  • Green Belt or Black Belt certification from accredited organization a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to all levels of the organization and customers
  • Skilled in time management and working on multiple task / projects at one time.
  • Strong background / willingness with training and developing others in the organization
