Asset Protection Officer - Archer Retail Store (Broadway & Archer) at Discover Goodwill of SW Colorado

Job Description:

Are you a person who is committed to the work of Loss Prevention and Safety? We are looking for an Asset Protection Officer at the Archer Goodwill Retail store. This position is created to provide security. We are looking for someone who will act as the liaison between the organization and law enforcement authorities as appropriate. Perform loss prevention audits at Retail sites. Communicate and consult with Risk Manager, Store Manager and District Manager on audit results and trends.
This position works under the direction and supervision of the Risk Manager. Compensation $15 -$17 depending on experience. 


REQUIREMENTS 


Educational requirement: Associates degree in related field is preferred. May substitute known performance for formal education.


Other: Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license. Mileage payable when travelling to or from designated work site.


Technical skills required: Must be able to clearly communicate with staff and site managers and be able to write in an organized and concise manner. Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point.


Other: Must be available during evening and weekend hours. OTHER REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES



  • Investigate and interview individuals suspected of shoplifting and internal theft in accordance with local, State, and Federal laws, as well as company procedures.

  • Prepare investigative reports in a timely fashion for the Risk Manager, as well as working with the Human Resources Department and management of the area investigated for any personnel corrective action(s).

  • To conduct surveillance and monitoring on donation sites or other facilities as needed.

  • Perform loss prevention audits at Retail sites. Communicate and consult with Risk Manager, Store Manager and District Manager on audit results and trends.

  • Respond to incidents involving disruptive customers and be able to enforce the company No Trespass policy for persons excluded from the stores.

  • Act as liaison between the organization and vendor(s) responsible for site access, alarm monitoring and security cameras.

  • Create associate awareness related to internal and external theft, operational deficiencies, and physical security.

  • Provide an open-door policy for reporting any issues related to internal or external theft or loss prevention issues.

  • Act as the liaison between the organization and law enforcement authorities as appropriate.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Display excellent character and integrity and maintain independence and objectivity during investigations.

  • Completeness, accuracy, and punctuality of reports and other assignments.

  • The ability to assist the Organization in meeting or exceeding accreditation standards approved or endorsed by Goodwill Industries International (GII) and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

  • Ensuring all investigative reports are kept confidential, except for sharing with those on a need to know basis.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and respond to special requests and expressed desires of the Risk Manager.

  • Initiative and quality of work.

  • The manner in which these individuals conduct him/herself should reflect the high standards of integrity and morals, which are expected of all Goodwill personnel.
